daniel danger

Daniel Danger is an illustrator, painter, and printmaker working out of New England. Documentation is key to get through the day. Things are always changing and its easy to lose yourself.

mondaybear asked: What are you using to scan your oversize pieces into your computer?

cheapo HP scanner with the lid torn off flipped upside down. pieced together in photoshop. works great.

pursuingadream asked: Your work is absolutely amazing! I was wondering if you could share part of your process, it looks like scratchboard and paint (digital?). Keep up the great work!

its clayboard actually, which is very similar to scratchboard but a thicker working surface. its unforgiving, but im very very comfortable with it. clayboard, ink, and infinite patience to labor over a piece for weeks. in the case of Psycho the original got scanned and i did the print separations digitally using painted and photographed textures and washes. in the case of the paintings, theyre just paintings. no tricks.

wylesol asked: Aren't you nervous that you're gonna spill ink or DC (diet coke) all over these pieces?! i would be freaking out!

you’d think so, but no. much like the pen, a can of diet coke is an extension of my body.

finishing up psycho for Mondo / Universal. this thing took me weeks.

further work on Psycho for Mondo / Universal

more of Psycho as i went along.

POZ Behind The Booth: Some Stranger (ex-Daytrader)

propertyofzack:

Daytrader have broken up, but former lead singer Tym is not wasting any time. Tym has started a new band called Some Stranger with Daniel Danger (artist/printmaker that has done work for ABC, HBO, AMC, and LucasArts). The band is currently recording their debut…

because sleep is for the week, i started a new project. there are TWO printmakers in this band so far, so at the very least expect some cool posters.
