kevin and i are actually good friends. we met back in 2009 at a poster show in chicago, and talk and bounce sketches and concepts off each other regularly. hyper talented guy. this is one of my favorite posters of his.

anyways, given ill be in Brooklyn, ill be at Pies’n’Thighs as much as humanly possible this weekend to celebrate-via-food the fact that next week i don’t have to do a goddamned thing.

its basically just a tiny broom. scratching up as much black ink as i do, the dried ink scrapings can get onto your hands and smudge across the board, or streak if you sweep your hand the wrong way. just better to keep things tidy. usually theres a smaller wet brush in use that i use for blacking out areas with ink, but obviously i dont keep that directly on the board.
yup! i do a couple a year, including group shows. if you pop back a few pages on my tumblr youll see some installation photos of my last big solo show at Rotofugi Gallery in chicago. ill be at Cotton Candy Machine in brooklyn NY for a small solo show May 10th, and then in LA within the year for a very big to-do.
ink on clayboard by hand usually, drawing in reverse because night time is more about light than shadow. that for like 100 hours. i eat alot of snacks. everything is scanned and then color separations are done digitally. then everything is screenprinted. check out the process posts ive made for Psycho and Game of Thrones.
